What it is

Water Neutrality — what HYDRisk delivers.

Water neutrality means returning to the environment a volume of water equivalent to what an operation consumes, at a comparable quality, in the same basin. It is a stricter test than carbon neutrality, because water is a local resource — a litre replenished a thousand kilometres away does nothing for the catchment you draw from.

That constraint drives our whole approach. Reduction and reuse come first, replenishment last — a strategy that leads with offset purchases will not survive investor diligence, and increasingly will not survive regulator review either.

HYDRisk quantifies the full lifecycle footprint using the ISO 14046 structure, models what reduction and reuse can realistically achieve on your site, and then sizes the residual that replenishment must cover. Replenishment projects are identified within the same basin and their yield is modelled hydrologically, not assumed.

The output is a dated, costed roadmap to a defensible neutrality claim — aligned to the AWS Standard and ready for CDP, GRI 303 and lender ESG reporting.
